1D – One Design Sails is a small sailmaking loft located near lake Balaton, Hungary. Even if we do not have a huge factory, the brand has become widely known in a short time. We are specialized to the production of high performance sails, the persistent innovation brings the results.
We are very proud that world class sailors are using our sails.
Our history began long time ago whenGiorgio Zuccoli and Pablo Soldano started their loft as ‘Ullman Sails Iseo’. They’ve made a huge number of amazing Multihull sails.
‘One Design Sails’ with the ‘1D’ logo was their brand for trapeze vests and some other small products.
When Giorgio passed away, it was a truly sad news for the sailing world, but Pablo decided to continue the business himself.
When Pablo finished to build sails some year ago, and with the opportunity to continue his work we asked him if we could use the 1D logo as we wanted it mainly on it’s spirit.
We have bought Pablo’s loft and all the know-hows.
Now we are building mainly Catamaran sails under his brand, ‘1D Sails’ , from F16, unto much bigger sized cats, from conventional to foiling.
Our designer and all the workers learnt from Pablo, to be able to produce the same quality.
Managing partner. Panka comes from an old boating family. Although her father is more after for speed and motorboats, she has started sailing as a rebellion as a child according to her own admission. She is responsible for the management and marketing of the 1D Sails.

Marton is responsible for the designs and developments.
“Now Sailing less and much more in the chase boat. The goal is to make our customers better by our sails. For this, we have to know the expectations and abilities of our customers. For me, catamaran coaching is the part of the development. The results of the 2016 Tornado Worlds show us we are on a good track”.
