July 12, 2019 1D Sails

Here you can found all of our posts from facebook, reporting day by day. Except the last day one, which you can find that HERE.

#F18Worlds2019 – Day 0.

While yesterday was helping the teams with measurement, spare parts, today it was the task to get ready for the practice race. Small changes here and there, but nothing major. The practice race was in a nice but shifty wind, between 10 and 14 kts. Some of the #1DSailors went for it, some of them stayed onshore.
This year, we have more big legends in the 1D team, as Darren Bundock is with our sails now, our main team, Iordanis Paschalidis – Konstantinos Trigonis Sailing Team and Mitch Booth and Ruben Booth there together with the Argentinian guys. The fleet is full of #1DSails, we have counted around 35%, but the final entry list is not out yet. It is an awesome number and proud that we reached this. There are some countries, like Argentina or Spain, where the pretty big majority are with 1D.
What is interesting, we have two boats from Greece, one is full of really talented youth (GRE77) and another one where the crew is the 2019 Tornado European champ crew. Also, there is Estella Jentsch, who is pushing for the mixed and youth title as well, and hearing the feedback of the training and testing, we do not have to be surprised if she will be around the top guys.
The races starting tomorrow at 11:00 if all good with the weather.

#F18Worlds2019 – Day 1

The wind was lighter than the previous days, and the breeze came in later. There were 3 races for the blue and yellow fleets as well. Iordanis Paschalidis – Konstantinos Trigonis Sailing Team won all the three races and leading the fleet now. Pablo Völker and Sergio Mehl won one and Fabián Manuel MIgoyaand Alexis Parcerisa Ledgard made a 4th (with a Shockwave!!!) Darren Bundock made a UFD,2,1 in the blue fleet.
About the 1D fleet, Greeks are leading overall, Mariano Heuser and Cruz Gonzalez Smith are on the second place, Volker-Mehl on the 6th, Mitch Booth and Ruben Booth on the 9th. Bundy is on the 42nd place but will change after the first discard.
Happy to see that all the youth teams using #1DSails are within the rankings enough for the gold fleet.
Awesome to see that everyone is happy with the performance and when we meet in the boat park, getting the happy feedbacks.
See you tomorrow.

#F18Worlds2019 – Day 2

I started in the sail loft in the morning with some repairing. Much better to work here 🙂
3 races were held, Iordanis Paschalidis – Konstantinos Trigonis Sailing Teamtook two first places with their super speed, except the 3rd race, where they broke a rope at the jib traveler and made an 11, but that went for discard.
Darren Bundock pulled in three bullets and after discarding the UFD, he is on the second place overall, one point behind Dany and Kostas.
Cruz Gonzalez Smith and Mariano Heuser made thee second places which put them to the third overall
Mitch Booth and Ruben Booth push very hard, 4,2,1 put them on the 4th place overall.
Awesome to see #1DSails/Scorpion on the top 4 places.

Qualification is over, tomorrow the finals, the Battle of the Legends starts, 9 races, but only with one discard.
All the youth guys with #1DSails are qualified into the gold fleet.
Awesome races, huge fights will follow!

#F18Worlds2019 – Day 3, Finals day 1

The first race of today which was the first day of the finals was pretty hard, many of our guys stuck on the wrong side. So many of them made a race-ready to discard.
Iordanis Paschalidis – Konstantinos Trigonis Sailing Team saved that race with a 4th, pulled in a 2nd and a bullet.
Darren Bundock 11th in the first, a 1st and a 2nd. In the live video, he told me in the last race he just let Trigonis Konstantinos to win, as he has birthday today 🙂 Nice move Bundy 👏👍 , by the way, Happy birthday man!!! 🎉🎉🥂🍾
Mitch Booth and Ruben Booth 15, OCS, 7 but they can climb up after the next discard
Argentinian friends, Cruz Gonzalez Smith and Mariano Heuser were in great shape with a 3,3,9
Overall Dany and Kostas is leading, Bundy up next, Mariano and Cruz on the 3rd place,
Pablo Völker and Sergio Mehl on the 4th.

So it means #1DSails on the 1st,2nd,3rd,4th places!!💪💪👍
If all good, Estella Jentsch is leading the youth division Sailing for Water

Tomorrow more tight racing.

#F18Worlds2019 – Day 4, Finals day 2

Again, not a smooth day. Only two races were held as a thunderstorm was coming from the mountains.
Also, the wind seemed pretty shifty.
Iordanis Paschalidis – Konstantinos Trigonis Sailing Team had some bad luck and pulled in a 4th and a 9th.
Darren Bundock made two first places, attacking the Greeks in the first place.
Cruz Gonzalez Smith and Mariano Heuser had a 7th, 10th
While Mitch Booth and Ruben Booth a 2nd and a 5th.

Overall changed, Bundy is leading, Dany and Kostas on the 2nd place, still Mariano and Cruz on the 3rd place,
Pablo Völker and Sergio Mehl on the 4th.
So it means #1DSails on the 1st,2nd,3rd,4th places!!💪💪👍
Estella Jentsch still leading the youth division Sailing for Waterand if I am right, the Booth family is leading the family division
Tomorrow 4 races, 1 discard more tight racing, and more changes around the podium.
